About the MBS Alumni Association
Every June, nearly 1,000 young men from across the state of Missouri descend upon the University of Central Missouri campus to attend The American Legion Boys State of Missouri program. In 2010, these young men had a unique opportunity awaiting them; members of the 71st Session were given the chance to become founding members of the newly formed Missouri Boys State Alumni Association.
While the Missouri Boys State program has been part of the Missouri landscape since 1938, our Alumni Association was formed in the spring of 2010 by a group of interested alumni who wanted to create a useful and organized network designed to support the program and continue its messages.
A fundamental belief that alumni of Missouri Boys State share is the obligation to not only lead, but to serve. Participants of the program understand that their Boys State experience doesn’t end when the programs is over.
Boys State has produced countless distinguished alumni, many of which credit Boys State with providing the inspiration to succeed in all walks of life.
Joining our association allows members to become part of an exceptional network of past citizens including professionals in law, medicine, education, government, service organizations and many more. Members are able to interact with each other through our website, and are given the potential for personal interaction and mentoring. Becoming a member will provide continuous benefits and special options – but more than the tangible benefits of memberships. Members can be certain that their time and money will contribute to further the advancement of the Missouri Boys State program for future generations of Missouri’s youth.
